In essence, book porn is someone posting pics of his or her collection. Recently, it also became common pratice for some reviewers to post photos of the ARCs and review copies they get from publishers.
I never intended to do this, but many people have been bugging me to do so for a while now. So as it became clear that Detroit would win the Stanley Cup last night, I took a few pictures from some random pieces in my own collection.
Never say never, or so they claim, but don't expect another post like this in the near future!:p Just click on any of the images to see a larger version. . .

Slight correction, the book porn didn't originate on Westeros (although I'm the one who gave it that label there); I nicked the idea from Jeff VanderMeer, who did it as a way of giving at least some coverage to the ARCs he received that he couldn't possibly read/review in a timely fashion.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, nice collection...but where are the obscure treasures? :P
Nice rack... of books. Truly not fit for the under-aged crowd.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are definitely NSFW!
ReplyDeleteIs it gauche to post pics of books? Ooops.
ReplyDeleteI find myself drooling over those Toll The Hounds Proofs...
ReplyDeleteIm so jealous of those limited ed Scott Lynch books. I need to start a blog or something and get me some ARCs.
ReplyDeleteNice books you have there. I was certain that your book porn will be an interesting one :)
ReplyDeleteI feel dirty and excited. Time for a cold shower.
ReplyDeleteYou are making us jealous Pat! J/K.

This is why I've started my weekly Books in the Mail post, though I don't get nearly the same amout as Jeff. Since starting that on my blog, I've felt less guilty about not reading all that arrives.
I hate you so much Patrick:) I'd kill for a Scott Lynch ARC.
ReplyDeleteI only see book porn on low quality blogs. You definitely don't need that on the Hotlist !
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCare to sell your Night of Knives (PS Publishing slipcase limited edition) copy?
Thanks,
Nuno
