*groan* Oh, that Dragon Keeper cover art is crap-tastic. I'm very glad I just imported the UK edition. At least its cover art is neutral and inoffensive.

Took a look and agree.

What's wrong with the Dragon Keeper cover? I think it looks great, and all this praise for UK covers is completely ridiculus. I mean how can they possibly fail when they make those boring and generic covers.

On the US covers they at least try to be creative...

The dragon on the Dragon Keeper novel just looks ridiculous.

Hi Pat, thanks for posting the Dragon Keeper cover. Do you happen to know the artist's name?

The problem with the dragon is that it looks fake. At least with UK cover, it doesn't pretend to be one.

Ah! Theodor. Yes, the new UK cover art is neutral and inoffensive. If you see praise for the UK cover art, it's for the original covers of all the earlier books, by John Howe.

I don't know if i'll bother reading Robin Hobb's new series, it seems like her books have been slowly going downhill capping it off with her soldier son trilogy which I couldn't even finish.

I didn't finish SOLDIER SON trilogy either, I haven't been that angry at a book in a while.

As for the covers, Hobb's is not bad, neither is Feist's. Modesitt's however is a HUGE improvement over the all the Darrell K. Sweet covers he's had.

RobB: Just read your post on the Soldier Son trilogy. If it makes a difference, the protagonists in DRAGON KEEPER are very much more proactive than Nevare. :)

LOVE the new cover for the Robin Hobb book for North America. Was kind of despairing that we would get the same as the Brits. It just wouldn't have matched up with the rest of the material or hers I have on my shelf. This flows much better with the current collection.
