Thanks for the tip! Next to Steven Erikson's The Crippled God, this is probably my most anticipated read of 2011. I picked up his first book entirely on a whim, and was just blown away by the storytelling.
Did you pick a winner for the Copy you were giving away yet????? I am crossing my fingers :)
Oh, dear - it was "meh". Reminded me of something out of a Harry Potter book.
That was supposed to entice me to read?
'Wow,” Elodin said after a long pause. He leveled a serious finger at the Lenatti man. “Uresh. Your next assignment is to have sex. If you do not know how to do this, see me after class.”'
That might be one of the worst passages I've read in ages. Surely Rothfuss could have chosen a better excerpt than this for promotion.
More and more this seems like a book I'd rather borrow as a time filler, rather than something to really sit down and enjoy.
i'm suddenly reminded of the 12 credits of shop I had to take in college. that was the class with the professor who'd lived in the US for 20 years and refused to speak English. ahh, good times.
I have to agree with Jessica on this one...That comment made me role my eyes...I understand a little humor and cleverness, but i mean CMON?! That just sounded tacky...Oh well after i read The White Luck Warrior, I suppose ill need something a little more wholesome.
I'm a cold hard cynic, and that quote cracked me up. You guys are a waste.
I hope this section isn't representative of the rest of the book as I wasn't impressed.
