Win an Advance Reading Copy of Richard Morgan's THE STEEL REMAINS

With Richard Morgan's The Steel Remains (Canada, USA, Europe) being one of the most eagerly anticipated fantasy novels of 2008, and with the positive advance buzz the book has generated thus far, I've been wanting to do something about it for a while. I pitched the idea of a giveaway to Simon Spanton at Gollancz, and I was very happy when he decided to run along with it!

The long and the short of it is this: One runner-up will receive a copy of the "teaser" Gollancz sent out a while back, and which is comprised of the first four chapters of the novel. And one grand prize winner will get his or her hands on an Advance Reading Copy of Morgan's fantasy debut! Believe me when I tell you that it doesn't get much better than this, especially with the book coming out in August in Europe and Canada, and on February 24th 2009 in the USA!:-)

The rules are the same as usual. You need to send an email at reviews@(no-spam)gryphonwood.net with the header "STEEL." Remember to remove the "no spam" thingy.

Second, your email must contain your full mailing address (that's snail mail!), otherwise your message will be deleted.

Lastly, multiple entries will disqualify whoever sends them. And please include your screen name and the message boards that you frequent using it, if you do hang out on a particular MB.

Good luck to all the participants!

P. S. You can still purchase The Steel Remains at 50% off on amazon.co.uk. . .

Whee! I'd be happy with the teaser; I'd be thrilled with the whole ARC.

But I'll buy Del Rey's version when it comes out, anyway, since I'm in North America. Publishers dislike folks buying "across the pond" when there's a home version coming out (which I understand!). $9 savings when considering shipping and the sale's recorded where it does me the most good--with the U.S. publisher, so hopefully they keep buying Morgan's fantasies (if he writes more). I can wait 6 months.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that my to-read stack's as high as Mount Everest, so I've other things to occupy the time. ;-)

You know you can get it from amazon.ca or other Canadian online stores, should you find the wait unbearable...:-)

Also expensive, but thanks for pointing that out. I had thought the Canadian version might be the Del Rey one...but no, it's the Gollancz one. Del Rey is starting to really baffle me.
