More inexpensive ebook goodies!

Since this one received Werthead's stamp of approval, you should know that you can download Luke Scull's The Grim Company for only £1.71 here.

Here's the blurb:

The grey granite walls of Dorminia rise to three times the height of a man, surrounding the city on all sides save for the south, where the Broken Sea begins. The stone is three-foot thick at its weakest point and can withstand all but the heaviest assault. The Crimson Watch patrol the streets even as Salazar's Mindhawks patrol the skies.

The Grey City was not always so. But something has changed. Something has broken at its heart. Perhaps the wild magic of the dead Gods has corrupted Dorminia's Magelord, as it has the earth itself. Or perhaps this iron-fisted tyranny is the consequence of a lifetime of dark deeds...

Still, pockets of resistance remain. When two formidable Highlanders save the life of a young rebel, it proves the foundation for an unlikely fellowship. A fellowship united against tyranny, but composed of self-righteous outlaws, crippled turncoats and amoral mercenaries. A grim company. But with the world entering an Age of Ruin, this is not a time of heroes...

Do what you are encouraging your readers to do then, buy it.

Abercrombie, Morgan, all those other things en vogue authors these days do you'll find in there. It's a good read.

It's worth the pittance.

Unless it's the lasy copy edit from authors like R. Scott Bakker, C. S. Friedman, or Steven Erikson, there is no way in hell I'm reading an entire book on my computer screen.

It would make my eyes bleed... =(

I once read The Road on a computer screen in a single afternoon while I was supposed to be at work. But it seems unfair to judge other men by my standards...

No slight meant to you, Pat - the US edition isn't out until September, and I gather it's polite practice for UK & Commonwealth publishers not to target NA bloggers and vice-versa. Holler at Head of Zeus if you want a copy early.

Unrelated, but I didn't know how to get this info to you, Pat.... just got Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb for $1.99 for Kindle on Amazon...

Luke,

I'm Canadian and part of the Commonwealth! ;-) Plus, most UK publishers send me ARCs and stuff...

I was able to obtain a copy and I am a US reviewer. Trying to get to it by the beginning of next month.
