THE LIES OF LOCKE LAMORA (signed limited edition)

I just received an email alert concerning Subterranean Press' limited edition of Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora. Both amazon.com and amazon.ca offer the book at 37% off, which truly brings down the price on this collector's item.

As I mentioned before, Bill at Subterranean Press sent me an ARC of this gorgeous edition of Lynch's debut. If you're a fan of the author, this is perhaps the cheapest way for you to get your hands on this limited edition. For more info on this title: Canada, USA, Europe.

Keep in mind that small publishers like Subterranean Press always fill orders direct to then BEFORE any copies would be sent to Amazon.com.

If you MIST have a copy, the safest thing is to pay more and order direct

Personally I wish that Scott Lynch had held off doing a special edition with Subterranean Press until he has a few more books in the series under his belt. It's just too early and I was really surprised he did it. GRRM did much the same thing with Meisha Merlin and that didn't work out too well. They bailed out after two books and Subterranean Press has taken over. They'll do a great job but there's going to be visual inconsistancies between the books in the set which somewhat spoils it. Meisha incidentally has just announced they're going out of business.

Steven Erikson is a good example of an author whose works could use a special edition illustrated set some day and he at least has a lot of books in his series out and coming out at a regular clip.

Pat,
I'm wondering if you got the notice from Bill, or from Amazon? From what I've read in the past, Bill doesn't usually like sending copies to Amazon (but I could totally be wrong in this).

Personally, I'm glad that Scott Lynch has signed on with SubPress, but mostly for the novellas he's going to be doing with the Gentlemen Bastards. I totally agree about the Erikson comment though. I'd love to get some limited editions of the Malazan series.
