God knows that I've been highly critical of some of the US covers for Steven Erikson's The Malazan Book of the Fallen. But this one is the shit!:p It kicks the UK cover's ass, and no contest!

We've been pondering this on the Malazan forums, and insofar as we can tell, it appears to be Barathol.
The white Hound would have to be Blind.
Don't worry. I'm sure we can count on Tor to spoil this by stamping lots of big bold text all over it.
That's cover art? Wow, that should just be a full size poster.
Why have the U.S. covers for the Malazan series been so inconsistent? Some are nice, some are cartoonish, and then this. Not very cohesive.
What a cover! I'll probably pick up a copy of the book just because of the artwork :)
I think it's awful, and much prefer the English covers, both old and new, at least there's consistentcy from GOTM thru MT in the early covers, and of course the new covers will be uniform from book 1 to 10.
I'd hate to have to own this series with US covers, most of the covers are absolutely awful, and they are a complete mish mash.
If feel sorry for US readers, they deserve better.
I rather like this cover. The covers for the US versions sucked till MoI, when they got Todd Lockwood to start painting good covers. Hopefully someone will re-print them with new covers for the first two by Lockwood. For example, get Xena of the front of GotM.
