I thought the editor's choice came out earlier?

Hey, Pat, just so's you know. . .Amazon.com is selling hardcovers of Sanderson's MISTBORN and ELANTRIS for six bucks apiece. Just in case you wanted to post about it :).
About a half dozen of these titles are fairly common across many other similar lists and are thus most likely to be up for awards nominations.
Scott Lynch's book is near the bottom of this list and this seems to confirm my impression that his second book, although popular, was not as well received as the first. This doesn't surprise me since I didn't like the ending.
It is interesting to note the titles which are missing here such as Richard Morgan's Black Man which is found on most other lists (it was a runner up at #13). And Naomi Novik is missing completely and indeed is missing from many other lists this year. She didn't even make the runner up list here.
Really? Harry Potter? I felt like the last book was way below the quality of, say, the first 2 in the series. Actually, if it hadn't been the last one, I probably wouldn't have finished it.
