US cover art for Adrian Tchaikovsky and Mark Charan Newton

Adrian Tchaikovsky's Blood of the Mantis (Canada, USA, Europe) from Pyr is another outstanding cover.

The US edition of Mark Charan Newton's Nights of Villjamur (Canada, USA, Europe) pretty much sucks, however. . .

Really?

I think the U.S. Nights cover is much better than the UK one, which looks like some Japanimation comic.

I'm all for the subtle, tasteful, and subdued in fantasy covers, though.

Urgh. The Blood of the Mantis cover is horrible. It's like something from the 80's. The UK one is much nicer. I'm ambivalent about the other one.

Love the Blood of the Mantis art! Very well done. The only thing I don't like about it is the text.

I prefer the UK cover art for both. The US Nights cover is horribly generic and boring.

the US nights cover is ok, but kinda bright and cheery. I like both UK covers better and the hardback best of all.

I really don't like the Blood of the Mantis cover, but I do like the Nights cover. We're all over the place here!

I'm opposite to Pat's take; I'd skip the first and pick up the second to have a look at it; quicker than I would have with its UK cover, actually. But then, winter covers usually do appeal to me in the winter, for some reason ... (it's how Game of Thrones hooked me, way back)

I agree the Blood of the Mantis cover is awesome, unfortunately this isn't the American cover offered on Amazon. So where to get this cover? You got me?
