"What should they be? Killers, honey. Stone killers who never get enough of that tasty Type-A. Bad boys and girls. Hunters. In other words, Midnight America. Red, white and blue, accent on the red. Those vamps got hijacked by a lot of soft-focus romance.

It's about time. I am frankly tired of the wishy washy bloodsuckers lately.
The "stone killer/hunter" vampire is just as cliche as the other tropes he mentioned. If King wants originality, he needs to read a little something called "Let The Ring One In".

Having people turn into vampires from a drop of vampire's blood getting in your eye is hardly terrifying. (American Vampire plot) I'll stick to the fangs in the neck thanks. - Ian
Let the Right One In is what vampires should be all about - manipulative killers. period. and that is a damn good movie.
i feel the need to read some bram stoker. although the end was a let down.
Vampires are, after all, just somebody's imagination so i guess it doesn't matter what they look like as long as they are HOT!!
