Cover art for C. S. Friedman's LEGACY OF KINGS

This is hands down one of my most eagerly anticipated SFF titles of 2011!

Here's the blurb:

The young peasant woman Kamala has proven strong and determined enough to claim the most powerful Magister sorcery for herself — but now the Magisters hunt her for killing one of their own. Her only hope of survival lies in the northern Protectorates, where spells are warped by a curse called the Wrath that even the Magisters fear.

Originally intended to protect the lands of men from creatures known only as souleaters, the Wrath appears to be weakening — and the threat of this ancient enemy is once more falling across the land
.

Legacy of Kings, the last volume in The Magister trilogy, will be released this fall. For more info about this title: Canada, USA, Europe.

Seriously, guys, this trilogy is one of the very best fantasy series of the new millennium thus far. Unfortunately, it feels as though it's been flying under the radar and doesn't garner the kudos it rightfully deserves.

Do yourself a favor and read both Feast of Souls (Canada, USA, Europe) and Wings of Wrath (Canada, USA, Europe). Trust me: You won't regret it! =)

I agree. I really didn't care much for the coldfire trilogy, but a friend gave me the first book in this one, and said it was good, so I gave it a chance and was glad I did so. Thanks for the release info Pat, I have been wondering when this book was coming out.

I ordered both books based on your reviews and they were both awesome!

Will there be a contest to win this one too?

I can't wait for this book either.

Also I seem to remember that blurb from the second book, you might want to check.

i recently picked up at a used book store The Alien Shore, In Conquest Born, and the Wildingling. Are they any good?

Hmm, I would normally pass on such a bad cover. With all the glowing comments I might have to take a look.

I hated the Coldfire trilogy so I don't think I'll give her another chance, sorry to say.

My thanks to "Jeff", above. I wrote these off after recently reading Coldfire and not enjoying it at all; now I may reconsider.

I whole heartedly agree that this series hasn't gotten enough attention. I really enjoyed the first two books and have been checking the author's web page to try and find out when I could expect the next installment.

I haven't read the Coldfire trilogy so I can't comment about how it rates against her earlier trilogy but I can tell you that I'm now interested in reading it after enjoying the Magister trilogy so much.

I would highly recommend this series!

I read the coldfire trilogy as they came out and loved them. I received an advance copy of the first one and was so impressed that I picked it up in hardcover when it came out. I'm not sure why some people did not like it but it's one of my favorites of her's. I've learnt to wait until an entire series is out to start them and I will for this one too.
