New cover art for the limited edition of Steven Erikson's DEADHOUSE GATES

Subterranean Press just unveiled the new J. K. Drummond cover art for their limited edition of Steven Erikson's Deadhouse Gates.

This one captures the essence of the book a lot more than the cover that was released last month. The end of Coltaine and the Chain of Dogs makes for a much more appropriate cover, no question about it!

You can pre-order Deadhouse Gates here.

I used to wonder how they would top the original cover and the previous version was not it. It wasn't a bad painting just not for MBotF. This, this is MUCH better. It actually makes me want to buy the book.

I don't know... it's kind of a spoiler, if you figure out who that character is.

Hmmm, anonymous...

You know a lot of readers unfamiliar with The Malazan Book of the Fallen who'll fork out 150$ for volume 2 of the series and then complain that the cover art is kind of a spoiler???

Coltaine ROCKS! Go the Wickan hardman. Mr Erikson - if you scan this message board - write a series called 'The Wickan book of the staunch'

I don't know. It kind of makes you want to cough.

Do I know people unfamiliar with the book who would pay $150? No. Do I know someone who's about the read the series thanks to your many endorsements, couldn't make heads/tails of the cover art, but thanks to your description ... yes. :(
