Embarrassing SFF cover art

Only Baen can come up with winners like that. . .

Just awful. . . And that's for a New York Times bestselling series!

I agree that Baen has some terrible art. But that's not the art for CAPTAIN VORPATRIL'S ALLIANCE (at least not in the US).

Holy crow, I thought you were kidding, but that's actually the paperback cover Amazon shows.

Wow, that's pretty bad.

Although, on the (minor) plus side, there really is a blue-skinned dancer in the story. So at least the artist didn't make that up :)

Wow. Looks like a badly Photoshopped cover over an indie published erotic urban fantasy romance. Just . . . wow.

Holy crow, I thought you were kidding, but that's the actual cover art amazon shows for the future paperback edition.

What are Baen thinking?

It's a GREAT book, by the way, so don't let the bad cover scare you off...

Baen has always been prone to some crazy, weird, and terrible cover art.

That is the back cover of the book. By the look of the image above, I'm guessing that's what they used for the audio, maybe? Baen's weak spot has always been their covers. It's a solid offering of a non-Miles story. I liked it better than Cryoburn.
