I have to give props to Larry for spreading the word about this!

Kirkus Reviews now has a new SFF issue. They review a slew of recent and forthcoming titles such as The Name of the Wind, Winterbirth, The Children of Húrin, Sandworms of Dune, Keeping it Real, etc.

Very cool, a lot of good reads about some of the best novels of the year. I like how they integrate the author's own words into the write up.

My favourite part, though, has got to be the bit with Terry Goodkind! The words that come out of his mouth are always so... erm... enlightening and make me feel so darn good about myself and me erroneous misconceptions about the fantasy genre!

Nah, I gotta give more credit to glancing at David Anthony Durham's blog and seeing that link last night. Which reminds me, I need to respond back to him on Westeros, as I've been trying to think of the best way of putting into words some thoughts and experiences that he reminded me of when he wrote his thoughtful response.

As for Tairy...that was just an added bonus - the other things are what makes that issue very important to read. :D

Oh, before I forget Pat - did you know that Tor is releasing in November an omnibus of the first Black Company stories by Glen Cook? I'm going to be requesting an ARC to that ASAP!
