Wow! I won something! This really made my day! And at an opportune moment too, since I've just started reading Reaper's Gale. Thanks...

That's awesome, Pat. No amount of props can express how much we appreciate you running these comps for us. This win has been a long time coming and is all the sweeter for that fact. Couldn't have possibly been on a better comp either. :D
Thanks again.

Hi Pat, Thank you so much.

Big fan of the site, can't believe you managed to have this going while also studying for the bar, and writing novels!!

Anyway, thanks for giving all of us a chance to win these great comps.

And good luck with your literary endeavours. I look forward to seeing your stuff on the shelves someday.

Hi Pat,

Quick question - all other comps seem to have been won by US & Canada readers, yet everyone on this was outside the US & Canada - is there certain comps only North American readers can win and the rest of the world can't?

Just curious to make sure I only enter the comps I can actually win stuff in!

Cheers

@Jebus: it didn't escape my notice either, but perhaps it has to do with the publisher's wishes, who knows (well, ok, Pat does)...
Anyway: received my copy today!

Nope, it just happens that way.

Heck, I've paid for the shipping of a couple of books to some winners when the publishers wouldn't, so I know!;-)

It would be too much of a drag to have certain giveaways open only to residents of this or that country...

For some reason, though about 50% of my traffic is from outside North America, I'd say that a good 80% of the registrations come from either the USA or Canada. So this should explain why many of the winners are Americans and Canadians. Still, it's nice to seem Aussie and Kiwi winners!

Interestingly enough, regardless of the fact that these giveaways have been taking place for nearly two years, it seems that many people still consider them a scam...

Anyway, best of luck to all the participants, wherever you hail from!;-)

I received my copy today. I wasn't sure if it would be HB or TPB, so it was a pleasant surprise to find it was the former.

Many thanks once again, Pat (especially in this case, as I doubt we'd see any HB copies in stores unless we specifically ordered one in.)

Ah I see, thanks for clearing that up! Didn't think it was any kind of scam (how can sending out free stuff be a scam when you don't use our email adresses for any nefarious purposes?) just thought it was rather weird!

Will be entering each comp. with gusto from now on :)
