The NHL Playoffs!

Well, it's that time of year again!

If you're a hockey fan, then you know what I mean! Against all odds, the Montreal Canadiens, a team that wasn't supposed to even have a chance to make it to the postseason this year, surprised everyone (their fans included!) by finishing on top of the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the hated Toronto Maple Leafs failed to qualify for the playoffs! Life is good!;-)

First round matchup will pit the Habs against our archrivals, the Boston Bruins. But since we have beaten Boston the last 11 times we played them, I figure that winning 4 games out of a 7-game series shouldn't be a big challenge. Each contest will be hard-fought, of course, but Montreal should advance to the second round.

Seeing this young team make it all the way to the top of the conference when every single hockey expert in the world believed that we would be at the bottom of the rankings has galvanized not only the city but the entire province. Hockey is a religion here, and come tomorrow the Montreal Canadiens and their fans are embarking on a holy war! Things are crazy and the puck hasn't even dropped yet.

Bring on the Bruins. . .

Being from Toronto I ought to support the Leafs, but I can't get behind a team that can't work together....so I guess that makes me a Habs fan then doesn't it?

Go Habs!

As a Washington Capitals fan, I'd like to thank you for Huet. Any other time you would like to give us a great player in exchange for a bak of pucks, please give us a call.

I hate the bruins more though, so you've got my cheering.

May your playoff beard grow as long as Gandalf's.

I'm just looking forward to the day that the Stanley Cup is hoisted in Nashville. That'll be the day, huh? ;)

I'd love to leave some witty remark promising your doom at the hands of the B's tonight, but as you pointed out - we just can't beat you guys.

Ah well. Let's get Nutty.

Well, my Blackhawks did not make it this year, so I guess I just need to cheer against the Red Wings (again).

Go Penguins!!!

They looked great last night against Ottawa. I just hope the dirty hit by Roberts at the end (totally uncalled for I must admit) doesn't fire the Senators up for the rest of the series.

Now don't you think it's a little scary that you're posting this on a fantasy blog? ;o)

I'm a Sabres fan, so needless to say this season has been nothing but depressing. In the playoffs, I'm pretty much rooting against Ottawa (just hate them), the Rangers (because they stole Drury), Philly (because they stole Briere), Detroit (just hate them too), and Dallas (think the "No Goal" in '99). If I had to pick a team to root for though, I guess it would be Pittsburgh since my boss is a Penguins fan and we talk hockey.

Go Habs go! Go Habs go!

Yep, so we're kicking the Bruins' asses again tonight. Should be a fun time.

Here we go B's, here we go!

Fuck yeah! 1 more game. Let's pull the biggest playoff upset in recent history and remind the Habs that the regular season don't mean shit once the playoffs begin!!
