Cover art for the US edition of GRRM's A DANCE WITH DRAGONS

Pretty ordinary, but no one really expected anything spectacular. It follows Bantam's new style for the ASOIAF covers.

And to think that I was almost in this book. . . Stupid Dallas Cowboys!!!:-(

the old covers were so much better, why did they switch over to this crap. the original Feast cover was great, and then they change it all. idiots...

And it will be in our hands in just a few more years...........

This was one series that actually had really nice cover illustrations, but then they decide to go with this boring crap.

totally agree
the most boring covers for one of the best series... ???
is the publisher just being cheap or what...

this is why I buy the illustrated editions as well...

Don't know if you guys picked this up before but that is actually just the welsh flag slightly modified.

Check the link above to see what I mean. That's craptastic lazy. There are simple covers and then just lazy ones.

Personnaly I don't give a damn about the cover.

I will bye the book even if the cover is made with toilet paper ;)

Hope it will be made in 2008 !

Ordinary, maybe... but at least it doesn't look CHEAP, like so many fantasy titles. This goes for a classy look. I respect that very much.

The problem is that my set of books look weird since I have all first editions (yes, mint condition A Game of Thrones first edition). It would be nice if there was some consistency.

The reason they switched to these blander covers is because they felt that "fantasy" had juvenile connotations, and would make some people embarrassed to read it in public and hardcores wouldn't even care, they'd just buy them to read.

Judging by the comments they were right.

Its very annoying how I have the first eds of the first 3, and then Feast and this have a different version. Eventually Ill have to sell the first eds and get the boring versions. I can't leave them like that, Id go mad.
