I have three copies of the US edition of Peter F. Hamilton's Misspent Youth of for grabs, compliments of the folks at Del Rey. For more info about this title: Canada, USA, Europe.
The rules are the same as usual. You need to send an email at reviews@(no-spam)gryphonwood.net with the header "YOUTH." Remember to remove the "no spam" thingy.
Second, your email must contain your full mailing address (that's snail mail!), otherwise your message will be deleted.
Lastly, multiple entries will disqualify whoever sends them. And please include your screen name and the message boards that you frequent using it, if you do hang out on a particular MB.
Good luck to all the participants!;-)

That's a really striking cover; makes more sense than the hardback MacMillan print I've got.
I'd be interested to know what the difference is between this and the UK edition. Apparently the US publishers didn't want to publish it in its original form and PFH did a substantial rewrite on it (I at first thought they'd want to tone down on the sex scenes, but it's the same publishers who are publishing The Steel Remains unchanged, so it can't be that). It's an interesting book, although probably PFH's weakest. His comments about the Internet making it impossible for popular media to make a profit seem to be fairly prescient and the notion that it gets so bad that no original movies or TV series are made any more is fairly disturbing.
When I asked Peter about the changes he told me that he re-wrote some sections based on some suggestions by his US editor and then those led to other re-writes. The main thing though is that the story hasn't changed in any way, so it will probably get the same reaction as the UK release. Still, can't wait to read it.
