Game of Thrones international air dates

The folks from Westeros came up with a comprehensive, if incomplete, list of air dates for HBO's Game of Thrones. It's a work in progress, so keep an eye on it if your country doesn't yet have a confirmed air date.

I don't need to remind you that the TV series will premiere in Canada and the USA on April 17th. Sky Atlantic will air the first episode in the UK on April 18th.

To peruse the list, follow this link.

Winter is coming!

While I am really happy that such a great initial novel of a series has attained television status, I am fairly sure I'll be frustrated by the fact that I can't yet access the books to finish the series, so despite an upcoming series start-up, I think I'll have to wait until the entire series is released on DVD - or I might just spend the time anticipating reading the books instead.

I hope this comment doesn't start a spam war (won't be offended if you cull me Pat), as this site is too cool a space for that to happen, and I loved the start of A Game of Thrones so much I am well stoked that it has been able to drive the production of serious fantasy into the TV world.

Australia is typically unconfirmed at this stage...

Australia is confirmed. Showtel are showing the series, but the date is uncertain. July 2011 is being mooted.

The white poster is from a Russian fansite, and is pretty cool.

Bahahahahaaa! Showtel. Pffft.

Fans of the book will be downloading it and then buying the DVDs/Blu Rays, people not familiar with it and who have pay TV and who have Showtel might watch it on there, we'll see. It's a shame it's not going on free to air over here in Oz, it'd get a much higher possibility of an audience.

I'm not sure what percentage of Oz households have pay TV, and then what percentage of those would have Showtel, but I suspect it's very very low.

I haven't properly watched a US or UK series on Australian TV in maybe 6 or 7 years.
