The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Movie Trailer

As you know, I could not for the life of me put down Stieg Larsson's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Canada, USA, Europe), and the same thing goes for the sequel, The Girl Who Played With Fire (Canada, USA, Europe). These books make for compulsive reading!

Don't know if the movie is any good (the trailer looks nice), but make sure you read the book beforehand, as there is no way in hell the flick can match the novel.

Hey Pat!

It's really great movie. It's like all the best Hollywood crime misterys but with some great cool-european-your-not-gonna-see-them-in-the-hollywood-movies moments...

The third book is really good as well, starts about right where the second leaves off. Was a sad day when it was over knowing it was it. Bought it from the book depository, could not wait for the US release.

The first movie is as good as anything from Hollywood and better than most. Anyone who's read these will thoroughly enjoy it. The second move left a lot to be desired IMO. Not sure why but it seems as though a lot more got left out of the story this time rendering it very choppy and sometimes hard to follow.

Got my free tix, just waiting for it to come out here.

WTF is with US trailers of foreign films not including any dialogue? It's a sad state of affairs when they assume that any kind of subtitle will just scare people away. That's just fucked up and either sad that they think they have to do that, or sad they actually have to do that to get audiences in.

If you don't like a great film, fine. If you don't like a great film because you can't or won't read subtitles, well then I pity the fool!

Just a pet hate of mine.

The movie is very good! It's overall a bit slower than an American movie, but it's got gorgeous scenery from Sweden, a rich family that looks credible and, last but not least, it has Noomi Rapace.

ps. Have you also / already tried 'Let the Right One In'? Similar great material and damn good acting....

And I just read on DarkHorizons.com that an American remake is planned. FFS!

Let The Right One In is a brilliant book and a fantastic movie, once again US is remaking it but I'm actually mildly interested in it as they said they plan on putting more of the book's content in there.

IMHO, regarding a good book adapted into a movie ... whether the movie is good or not, the combined experience is better seeing the movie 1st then reading the book.

Watched the movie last night, and all I can say is "Fantastic"! The acting was top notch (esp Lisbeth) and the story very gripping. R rated so don't go if you're squeamish, but it all fitted with the story and I'm now going to get the book.
