Synopsis for Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's TOWERS OF MIDNIGHT

Here you go:

The Last Battle has started. The seals on the Dark One’s prison are crumbling. The Pattern itself is unraveling, and the armies of the Shadow have begun to boil out of the Blight.

The sun has begun to set upon the Third Age.

Perrin Aybara is now hunted by specters from his past: Whitecloaks, a slayer of wolves, and the responsibilities of leadership. All the while, an unseen foe is slowly pulling a noose tight around his neck. To prevail, he must seek answers in Tel’aran’rhiod and find a way—at long last—to master the wolf within him or lose himself to it forever.

Meanwhile, Matrim Cauthon prepares for the most difficult challenge of his life. The creatures beyond the stone gateways—the Aelfinn and the Eelfinn—have confused him, taunted him, and left him hanged, his memory stuffed with bits and pieces of other men’s lives. He had hoped that his last confrontation with them would be the end of it, but the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills. The time is coming when he will again have to dance with the Snakes and the Foxes, playing a game that cannot be won. The Tower of Ghenjei awaits, and its secrets will reveal the fate of a friend long lost
.

Finally, the Moiraine storyline will be resolved. . . And I got ten bucks that says Faile fucks up and Perrin spends half of the narrative focusing on him trying to save her sorry ass yet again. . .

no no, you got it all wrong.
again we will see a character like perrin becoming a walking shit bag that cares about himself before anything else.
just like gawain.
but in the end, what does it matter ?
this series is just plain bad, there's no recovery for the 8-11 books of RJ.
(and that's assuming you let many things slide).

I have to say, I am really excited for this! The series had definately gone down hill - but I re-read book 10 before the new one came out last year and that wasn't so bad as I remembered.

The introductory chapter of Sanderson's book was not good. I was afraid the whole thing was going to be a disaster. But, as soon as I got into he rest of the book it was a welcome surprise. Great stuff, and I'm definitely buying the next one as soon as I can.

While the focuc os this book will be on Mat and Perrin, I'm sure Rand will make an appearance for a few chapters (like Mat and Perrin did in TGS)

Really looking forward to this title.

by introductory chapter are you talking about the prologue? if so that was actually rj i believe.

and the prologue was putting me to sleep sadly.

Hopefully this isn't going to be another Book 3, where Rand hardly gets any face time.

I really hope your Faile prediction is wrong. Also, If Mat's POV is written like it was for A Gathering Storm, I will be flipping them pages.....

sigh, the more Mat and less Faile the better (for me her name will always be pronounced fail)
