With their 3-2 victory over the Stanley Cup champions last night, the series between the Habs and the Pittsburgh Penguins is tied at two games apiece. The French Canadians playing for the defending champs all said that they would be living a little boy's dream by playing against the team they had loved growing up. Well, this is surely turning into a nightmare for them. The Montreal Canadiens weren't supposed to have a chance, and yet they are battling on and refusing to give up. And Halak is a veritable wall in the net.
Can you imagine? An Eastern finals between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens, the biggest rivalry in NHL history. Man, that would be one hell of a series!
Fans are starting to believe. And more importantly, the team appears to believe it as well. And if they pull off the upset and beat the defending champs, they will have eliminated the two top seeds in the Eastern Conference. Not bad for a team that was supposed to be swept by the Washington Capitals. . .
I am hoping my Red Wings can pull off a miracle. The game last night gives me hope, especially since the first 3 games easily could have gone either way.. but that's a tough hill to climb to say the least. I was really hoping for another Wings / Hawks conference finals. Their finals in 1995 is what cemented me into a hockey fan and made me a Wings fan for life.
Anyway, I really hope the Habs pull off the upset. Series tied, race to 2 now.. anything can happen and usually does come playoff hockey!
A nightmare.........Last I checked the series is tied. Be thankful you have a hot goalie or the series would be over. As long as Halak can play like that they will be tough to beat. The question is for how long.....

Id love to see a Habs Hawks Stanley Cup Final. The two toughest places to play in the league and too teams that have a ton of history. Go Hawks! :)
Stay classy Habs, the thrash thrown onto the ice was a nice touch.

We're Pens fans. Actually my husband and daughter are. I curl up on the couch with a book and look up when I hear them yell.
"Those history will be made" ads gives me shivers!
When i see Mario Lemieux or Wayne Gretzky moving backwards with that music... so cool!
But i cant wait to see if the one with Jaroslav Halak
will become THE classic of this generation...maybe associated with the Stanley Cup!
It's a little soon to say... but who knows :)

I'm not sure what the rest of you are watching, but I really do not think anyone is beating Chicago. Go Blackhawks!
