Win a copy of the special issue of SpectraPulse (new GRRM chapter)

A lot has been said about that never-before-seen chapter from George R. R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons (Canada, USA, Europe), other than it will be found in the special issue of SpectraPulse which will be handed out free of charge at a number of upcoming SFF conventions.

Thanks to the cool folks at Bantam Dell, one lucky winner will get his or her hands on a copy of that limited edition of SpectraPulse. So before you pay hard-earned cash to purchase a copy on Ebay, why not attempt to get it for free!?!;-)

The rules are the same as usual. First off, you need to send an email at reviews@(no-spam)gryphonwood.net with the header "GRRM." Remember to remove the "no spam" thingy.

Second, your email must contain your full mailing address (that's snail mail!), otherwise your message will be deleted.

Lastly, multiple entries will disqualify whoever sends them. And please include your screen name and the message boards that you frequent using it, if you do hang out on a particular MB.

Good luck to all the participants!

I would love a copy of SP but I can't get to the conventions. Any other way to get a copy? Anybody going to the conventions? I'd pay postage if you got me a copy.

I love GRRM and Song is a wonder. But has anyone else come to accept that it is going the way the Wheel did. I remember when Feast was first promoted as one half of a book upon which Dance was to follow 6 months later. Feast was everything it should have been and I have no doubt Dance will be the same. But three years for the second half of an already outlined novel? A novel which supposedly had many of the Daenerys and other chapters already written. And when I say three years, I mean if we are lucky. Yet another reason why I love Steve Erickson with an undying passion. There's a man who understands that it doesn't matter how good a race you've run if you aren't a finisher. That said, I'd kill to read the new chapter.

I guess that explains why Erikson is a terrible writer and Martin is a master.

Erickson and Martin are both great writers. To insult either is silly. Sometimes books take a long time. I do sometimes feel a little Robert Jordan deja vu with Song of Ice and Fire. Knife of Dreams wasn't the worst, though it took less time. Erickson and Martin are both widely respected for a reason. To insult either is sad. Martin's limited edition from Sub Press looks like a find; even just the trade edition. A Dance with Dragons is going to rock us all. Whiskey Jack is far cooler than Jon Stark, Winterfell or no. That first one was me, by the by.
