which one of these you are reading right now?

Neither of them, I'm afraid... The next review will be of Donaldson's new Covenant novel, THE RUNES OF THE EARTH.

Thanks for the survey. I'm reading all of these series except for the Erikson one, so I guess I'll have to give that a try next. Not sure how that's slipped under my radar for so long...

p.s. Got a typo on one of you titles. It's the Darkness that comes before. :)

Defiantly check out Erikson, dodzie. You don't know what you have been missing, and you will be so disappointed you didn't read him earlier.

I suggest thet you read all of Katherine Kurtz's Deryni books as well as her Adept series.

The Deryni books are a very well done magic based fantasy series set in a faux Middle Ages ...go to deryni.net for all the listings of the books... I think there are about 20 so far.

The Adept books are more modern...and the main protagonist is a mixture of Sherlock Holmes a Knight Templar(one of Kurtz's other series is about the Templars)and Marvel Comic's Dr. Strange.

Both are very good...but I prefer the Deryni books more... I guess they were about the 4th or 5th fantsy series I ever read...

Those first few were..
Lord of the Rings, The first Thomas Covenant trilogy, Shannara, The Belgariad and of course the Deryni series.

Highest possible recommendation. :)

The Deryni saga by Kurtz is my favorite ongoing series!

No doubt about it, one of the very best series ever written! Try it, all of you!!!;-)
