Look what the cat dragged in. . . Again!

Yes! R. Scott Bakker's The White-Luck Warrior (Canada, USA, Europe) is finally here! =)

Here's the blurb:

As Anasûrimbor Kellhus and his Great Ordeal march ever farther into the perilous wastes of the Ancient North, Esmenet finds herself at war with not only the Gods, but her own family as well. Achamian, meanwhile, leads his own ragtag expedition to the legendary ruins of Sauglish, and to a truth he can scarce survive, let alone comprehend. Into this tumult walks the White-Luck Warrior, assassin and messiah both, executing a mission as old as the World’s making …

The White-Luck Warrior is a story filled with heart-stopping action, devious treachery, grand passion and meticulous detail. It is both a classic quest tale and a high fantasy war story.

Now I just need to finish Robin Hobb's Dragon Haven (Canada, USA, Europe) and GRRM and Gardner Dozois' Songs of Love & Death (Canada, USA, Europe) so I can sink my teeth into this one!

I'll try to get Bakker to agree to let me post a teaser excerpt, but he's always refused in the past. . .

Worst. Title. Ever!
I loved the first trilogy, but was unimpressed by the previous volume (with the pointless homage. Let's hope he rebounds in this one.

I like his covers, with the intricate geometrical designs and all, but that is a very weird quote to put right front-and-center. Is that really the best they could come up with. Might as well say, "Excessively ok!"

...and yet you posted an excerpt of TJE.. so why not WLW?

I posted the entire prologue close to the pub date, true. But Bakker was against the idea of posting a teaser extract weeks earlier...

I'm pretty sure there will be an excerpt for TWLW. Still, it would be cool to have a little something to make fans salivate and beg for more! :P

so is this the final book of a duology or the middle of a trilogy?
