I'm actually totally OFFENDED that this sort of (obviously ghost written) tripe is able to make it onto shelves while other decent, hard working folk are trying to get published and getting rejected.

What are your bets that if she was just shopping this idea around to publishers and she wasn't who she is, that she'd have gotten rejected EVERYWHERE. It's a horrible idea and I sincerely hope it flops miserably.

Modelland....smize? That's a whole new level of WTF-ery.

In times when common folk gets access to "Game of Thrones", a non-typical complex fatansy epic, there is a huge and deep cleft between quality, a brilliant author, a story with complexity and that the products many other fantasy writers bring out. But there are many, I guess 1000s or more writers and even more books out there in our beloved genre who/which never had any success or were even recognized.

Now there comes a certain Tyra Banks, famous for modelling and various other things, throwing around her "Modelland", promoting it like a writing genious, or let's say, the interviewers treat her like a great author. Her payment for her presentations in various talkshows or glamour magazines and interviews is higher than most good writers earn with two or more books. It's just ridiculous.

Yes, I have not read that piece of paperwork, but why should I? Just to confirm my oppinion? No need.
If ADwD gets a rate of 9/10, this can't be better than 0.5/10 ...
booh ... I'm full with prejudice, and happily so.

Modelland sounds like a combination between Harry Potter and a pile of turds.

Blame the Harry Potter movies and Twilight. Given that Tyra Banks is basically living in an artificial hype-based fantasy world like that it's not far off.

99.9999999% of fantasy = SHIT

What's your problem with Tyra?

I have just stuck a picture of Sugarpuffs to my forehead, in cerealland (my new novel) it increases your chances of getting Sugarpuffs for breakfast, lunch and.....wait for it....dinner....it also decreases the risk of.......eating museli.

Who will find the sacred picture of the Sugarpuffs......
