For those of you who have been bemoaning the fact that Steven Erikson's novellas were only available as expensive limited edition collector's items, you'll be pleased to learn that Tor Books will soon release a trade paperback omnibus containing Blood Follows, The Lees of Laughter's End, and The Healthy Dead. The omnibus is titled Beauchelain and Korbal Broach and it will be published in September.

That's not the final cover, is it?
Crap, I've already picked up the HC novellas, which were hard and pricey to get.
Neil: Yep, that's supposed to be the final cover art...
Oh, how I've been waiting for this. Do you know of plans to release it in MMPB form later on? Love the cover.
@ PeterWilliam:
Ditto on picking up each individual HC novella. At least the artwork for the novellas is much better :)
I HATE characters on a cover, but that's absolutely wonderful.
Maybe Korbal Broach should be huger and more menacing, while Bauchelain should be older and with a face more resembling Lovecraft.
But it's rare to see a picture going so near to the characters in the book.
They need to absolutely change the green on Erikson's name though.
P.S.
This is the very best Erikson wrote. The Lees of Laughter's End is one masterpiece from the first letter to the last.
The writing itself is amazing.
I like the cover. Not exactly as Erikson painted them but close enough :P
D-Man = correct
Original artwork was better.
I have picked up the limited Bauchelain & Korbal Broach Collected Stories Vol 1 which was cheaper than the 3 separate hard covers.
Wish they would print these type of books in hard cover - I much prefer that format.
One of the rare occasions I instantly love a book cover :)
Mind you, I only got my hands on the HC version of BF, so this is actually going to save me some money [though the art of the HC editions is great :(]
Puck
I have the three individual copies but am tempted to grab this as well.
Bauchelain looks like Peter Stormare :)
Like KP I picked up this collection of stories in the PS Publishing Omnibus edition which was out in Sep 2007. It's sold out now but was priced at GBP20 (~US$30). I thought that was pretty reasonable for three awesome stories. What did you guys think of that cover? I loved it.. check it out at store.pspublishing.co.uk
The other thing with these omnibus editions is that you don't get the nifty interior illustrations.
I don't really like the cover art but at least we'll be able to read the novellas at lower cost.
There's never enough Erickson!
Phil - who's Erickson?
