The next great movie, or just another crapfest in the making???

With basically all the recent blockbusters ending up being bad or underwhelming, this trailer doesn't inspire much confidence in me. . .

I'll probably go see The Last Airbender this week, just because I want to see it on the big screen.

Man, where have all the good movies gone???

No! Please don't waste your time on The Last Airbender! It is beyond terrible!!

Regarding Tron: Legacy, I've been excited since the trailer first came out, and I don't usually get this excited about movies (particularly Disney releases).

The reason I want to see this is because I enjoyed the original Tron, but you can tell it was a bit ahead of its time. Now we have the special effects to do a film like this justice. This is one I'll be seeing in IMAX 3D because I want the full effect.

I'd recommend Inception, rather than Airbender, if you want to see a movie worth watching.

Actually this looks good - Jeff Bridges, staying true to the original, and a writer from LOST. New director, so who knows, but it looks like it's anchored as much in character as spectacle, which I appreciate.

The Last Airbender got an 8% at Rotten Tomatoes...so I wish you luck on it, although I have no opinion on the film since I haven't seen it myself.

But I do know that you MUST see Inception. Best film of the year by far, imo. So definitely check it out sometime, preferably the big screen because of the score and action sequences.

Not excited? How can you not get excited, it's Tron!

The thing could have the crappiest trailer in the world and I'd still be excited for it.

At least with airbender my excitement was tempered by the fact that it was Shyamalan - a guy who hadn't made a good movie since Unbreakable - and the main cast was white-washed to oblivion.

I highly recommend Inception. I saw it last night and thought it was pretty cool.

Why don't you go see Inception? Seems like this is THE movie to see now. (Opens only next week in Germany, sigh)

I have been secretly praying to the CPU on a daily basis for the last few months. Perhaps my prayers will ensure this film will be a winner. I don't think I could forgive the production company if it isn't.

I'm more hopeful about this one. It's a proper sequel, not a remake, and the very premise of the films means that upgrading their visual quality (including into 3D) makes a lot of sense. Plus the visual design of the first film was amazing, even if the CGI (which was actually mostly cel animation, not CGI at all) has dated badly.

Also, they brought back Bridges and Boxleitner, which is a great move. The actor playing the hero looks a little wooden though.

Inception is the new Matrix.

"Where have all the good movies gone?"

For me they have gone to Blockbuster by mail. Where I rent classic gems I've never seen, like Breaker Morrant, for one or The Man Who Would Be King.

Special effects do not make a good movie. I still enjoy old episodes of Dr. Who. Which had some of the lowest budget special effects ever and some really cheesy acting. But the writing made up for it and they are still enjoyable today.

It helps when you can watch them on a 11 foot screen in your living room with surround. I haven't been to a theater since Revenge of the Sith.

No worries, I'll go see Inception. But I've heard it said that if you've read a lot of science fiction, the impact is lessened for some of the ideas are not at all new.

Looks quite good, though!

HE IS GOING INSIDE THE VIDEO GAME.

And that's awesome. This is Tron, it's my childhood and it is going to be all good.

No room for negative nellies.

Inception. Inception. Inception. Best movie in years and no movie will top it this year. The pacing is perfect, the story is excellent, the acting is excellent. You'll enjoy it immensely.

The cats over at Pixar have helped out with Tron. Thats all I need to know.

Am looking forward to Tron and Inception, not so looking forward to Airbender but I have to see it at the cinema, even if just to see how bad it is. I saw Repo Men last night and quite liked it.

Some films I'm really looking forward to which I'll be seeing at the Melbourne International Film Festival over the next 2 weeks: Splice, I Love You Phillip Morris, World's Greatest Dad, Air Doll, Caterpillar, Four Lions, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, Enter The Void, The Killer Inside Me, Lebanon and i was looking forward to seeing L.A. Zombie (gay alien zombie discovers if he rapes corpses (and not always in holes that were there naturally) he can reanimate them) but it's just been refused classification and won't be shown :(

Oh, and also check out the trailer for the Starblazers live action film Battle Cruiser Yamato - looks awesome!

Did you see Kick-Ass? Okay, technically maybe it wasn't a blockbuster, but it should have been. But it wasn't because people are silly and didn't go see it.

straight up, go see inception. I've heard nothing but bad things about the last airbender.

I watched 15 minutes of the Last Airbender movie, and it is 15 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Avoid it at all costs.

On the plus side, Nickelodeon is going to do a cartoon spin-off! http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Nickelodeon-sets-Last-apf-2329153590.html?x=0&.v=1

I saw the Tron trailer in 3D, and it looked great. This movie is going to be a ride. Avatar had a crappy story and the casting was ho-hum, but I loved the experience. I expect Tron to be a lot of fun.
