To all my German friends and anyone else who actually bought this thing
Okay, so if you live in Canada or the USA, you probably have seen this commercial by now. It's so damn hilarious that it's the butt of countless jokes over here. But everyone's wondering if it works. We doubt it, but what the heck!?!
It's gotten to the point where I'm actually considering ordering this as a Christmas present for someone, just to see his face when he unwraps the box, and I can shout, "ShamWow!"
Made in Germany, the ShamWow supposedly sold millions of units in that country. Does anyone out there have the guts to admit that he or she actually purchased the ShamWow!?! Tell us about it!:p
ShamWow!!!

Don't have one but maybe you could get the company to give you a sample for review. Then you could do a give away! I'm all for that!
Hard-hitting journalism, Pat! That's why we love you!;)
The name says it all. It`s a sham.
Lol, I live in Germany but I've never seen that one.
Maybe I should get my nose out of the books and into TV for a change. ;)
That informercial is a favorite in our house and we saw this in Target yesterday and just had to buy it as a gimmick christmas gift for someone in particular.
I'll have to report back on Christmas once its opened and tested out.
hehehe, i am also livin in germany and have never heard of it :-P
that doesn't mean it can't be from germany after all... maybe i should re-import it *lol*
since you know, ze germans always make good stuff *cough cough*
Italy has its fair share of weird commercials but this one hasn't hit it yet. It is hilarious though!
Sorry, I've never seen this thing before.
And I'm from germany too.
Have to support Gabriele. Living in Germany but never even heard of it.
It's a shame. Could need one. hehe.
I've heard that they're actually really good!! I've never personally seen it myself, but have a couple of friends who have used it, and said it was pretty much as good as the commercial said!
I live in Germany too and I watch TV. But I never saw a commercial about shamwow.
By the way do you know ABNORMAZORB?
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2032233/shamwow_parody_abnormazorb/
I saw a demonstration a number of years ago and bought some for $10 or something. We had just got a puppy and the idea that the thing would suck out the liquid from the carpet appealed.
It works ok. They say you can wash them, but then they never work the the same after.
I've never seen the infomercial on TV, so I have no idea what they go for past the "advanced preview" i happened to stumble on in the mall.
I figured even if they didn't work, $10 for a bag of rags was about what I'd pay for kitchen clothes at Walmart. :)
Check out this "Slate" "Ad Report Card" article about Vince, from Shamwow:
http://www.slate.com/id/2190658/
Haven't seen this ad during the Christmas season yet but I see a Chia pet commercial every other minute.
Looks like a typical German "Spontex Wundertuch" to me ;)
Works very good to dry off wet bathroom tiles...
And now I have to run and hide
