You should see it on the big screen unless you have a large HD TV and Blue Ray. Yes, the story isn't the best, buy you still leave haunted by something... my review.
I saw it this past week and it was visually amazing, which is why I think it is worth a matinee showing. What story there is is decent but it is not much. I had one problem about the end, but it didn't ruin it for me.
I was extremely disappointed. The visuals are nice(as everyone else has said), but everything else was fantastically mediocre. The voice acting was poor at best, with huge delays between responses and reactions. The plot was so underwhelming, I could have left five minutes from the end of the film, without any remorse. In general, disappointment was the feeling throughout.
Cars was a big steaming pile of shit that was more in line with something disney would do. Otherwise I agree, pixar has found the sweet spot for their movies.

I was pretty excited for it but the reviews were spot on.
Was visually very nice. Had a lot of potential story-wise, but in the end it was a fairly weak storyline with an unsatisfying resolution.

A guy over at Only the Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy posted his thoughts on the screening, if you're interested.
It has a paper thin story and that little thin part is filled with cliches. I would save your money and just rent it later.

I was curious about it too, so I'm glad you asked and got these responses!

I was looking forward to this but no amount of great visuals makes up for a poor story. Bugger.
Seems that these days only Pixar comes up with good stories for "Western" animated films. Don't think they've done a crap story yet!
Fingers crossed that Gatchaman and Astroboy will kick arse.
