Worldbuilders 2009

Once again this year, Patrick Rothfuss is hosting a fundraiser for Heifer International. From Rothfuss' blog:

Heifer International is my favorite charity. It helps people raise themselves up out of poverty and starvation. All over the world Heifer promotes education, sustainable agriculture, and local industry.

They don't just keep kids from starving, they make it so families can take care of themselves. They give goats, sheep, and chickens to families so their children have milk to drink, warm clothes to wear, and eggs to eat.

For more info on how everything works this year, here's the link.

Check it out, for there are great SFF prizes to win!=)

Having a closer look at this author he really resembles George Martin. Both authors do a lot of bs in their freetime, instead of writing their damn books. Now I know I will get a lot of heat for writing this comment, but let´s face it: If I you would behave like that in any other job, you would be fired and cast out on the effing street. POINT!

Let's face it, you don't know anything about creation.

And you don't know them apart from their blogs so you drawing wrong conclusions from half guesses.

...and just like you have hobbies, family and maybe, maybe even volunteer from time to time, authors do too. Who can work 24x7 ? Perhaps you should be at work doing whatever it is you do rather than wasting time commenting on this blog. BTW, you're not at work are you?

I don't think creating a fundraiser to provide food to starving kids and families around the world qualifies as "BS." And I don't care how long it takes Pat or GRRM to come out with their next book, there are plenty of others out there to read. And let's face it: artists (musicians, authors, painters, etc.) don't have "any other job" out there, they have jobs that rely on creativity. Some people find their muses helping others.

And Pat, that is an awesome cover to The Wise Man's Fear. I haven't seen that yet. Is it official?

It's called FREEtime for a reason and if you are expected to work in your freetime maybe you should get a different job.
