If you think this is "Darker stuff than what they usually came up with. . ." then you obviously haven't listened to some of their earlier albums like "Pornography" or
"Seventen Seconds." :)
While Lullaby has quite dark lyrics it is in a fantasy/fairy tale type way... whereas much of Pornography is literally music to hang yourself to.

The entire "Disintegration" album is a dark masterpiece on a par with Joy Division's "Unknown Pleasures". "Lullaby" is actually one of the more upbeat numbers!
