Oh man, October can't come quick enough! I totally forgot that this book was being published in the fall of 2010!
Follows more or less the same style as Fatal Revenant. I like it.
Against All Things Ending should be one of the reading highlights of the year! For more info about this title: Canada, USA, Europe.

The Last Chronicles will be 4 books, right?
I can't wait for it to be finished, I want to read the books in a row
Is that supposed to be Covenant on the cover? I haven't read this series, but I own the first few, and I recall that his character was missing a finger or two.
Or is this another character shown on this upcoming book cover?
would u still recommend picking up the very first book ?
Ooooh I can't wait!!
It might be Covenant, but it might also be his son, Roger. Or someone else entirely.
Fatal Revenant had a similar portrait of Berek Halfhand on the cover, I believe. That book was awesome, but the person portraits have been iffy cover choices in my view.
Anonymous 12:52 - pick up the Covenant books. They're awesome - if a bit jarring due to the initially unsympathetic protagonist.
I've this one and Williams' Shadowheart on the calendar. Instant buys.
That wasn't Berek on the cover of "Fatal Revenant". It was the Forestal Caerriol Wildwood.
Only pick up the covenant books if you're a fan of child rape (Ol' Tom rapes a young girl in the first book, with no consequence).
oooh brilliant ive been waiting ages for a proper release dat for this! cant say im fond of the cover though, if that is convanent cant say its how ive imagined him, but saying that everyone has a different image of fantasy worlds in there head.
@ Joe: No consequence? Did we read the same books?
Thanks for the spoiler, Joe.
Joe, you really are a moron! Not only are you dead wrong, but you also give away a massive spoiler (I presume deliberately in order to sabotage the potential experience of any new reader).
To everyone else, these books are essential reading for anyone into deep, complex [fantasy] novels.
Wildwood makes much more sense than Berek, thanks Anonymous 10:31.
I do wish the books had more active covers. The motionless, somewhat ambiguous portraits don't do it for me.
I did like the ring covers. That was inventive - and the old ones with scenes depicted were nice.
It's not Covenant on the cover, simply because he has all his fingers.
Liand maybe? With the staff?
@ Verloc,
Once you're 1/3 or less into the book, you'll realize who is depicted on the cover. Not going to spoil it, though.
I finished reading "Against ..." recently and am here because I still was unsure of who it is on the cover. I suspect Liand. With all of the fingers, you take out the humbled. Too young and no flaming grey/white hair for covenant. If anyone is certain, just say so, would not damage the book reading at all. BTW, Donaldson has always used way too many extravagant words, but he goes way too far in this one. Also, too much time spent at the start doing introspection and forces readers to recall entire history of "The Land". Still a fan though.
Hey Jeff,
I rather certain that it is the Harrow.
Its the Harrow. Look at his pendant thing, it "resembles a ploughshare".
Agreed. Has to be the Harrow.
