Clash of the Titans
Finally saw it tonight. . .
Nothing to write home about, to be sure, but not as bad as I thought it would be. Still, compared to the original, it kind of sucks.
The 3D is basically worthless, and I have to wonder why they make us pay an extra 3$ when the visual effects don't warrant the 3D glasses. The rhythm is okay and after a shaky beginning the plot moves along rather well. The dialogue is so ridiculous it made me cringe at times. Can't believe they came up with so many atrociously bad lines. . .
If you must see it, at least go on a Tuesday night. And even at 5$ (plus 3$ for the 3D glasses) you're getting robbed.

Why see this when you could have seen 'Kick-ass'!?
I was unimpressed, too. I didn't see the 3D version, having already read that it was fake 3D (not filmed for 3D; they just played with the print to do some cheesy effects, it sounds like).
Yeah Pat. Watch Kick Ass! After watching that, every super hero movie pales in comparison in terms of action and humor!
I did like the reference to the owl getting left in the trunk, lol.
If they would have kept the original story it would have been kick ass
Did you get to see Avatar in 3D?
I thought it was beyond awful...

As you may know, the 3D was added ex-post by digital wizardry. The film itself was shot in 2D which goes a long way to explaining why the effects are bad.
I went ion with very low expectations, and I thought it was good. Not as good as the original, but good.
The only new film coming out that is actually shot in 3D is the new Resident Evil film, all the rest are upscaled bastardisations with only animated films getting a decent look at it.
I'm not gonna see this at the cinema, I read about all the horrendous cutting and re-editing that the studio did to the film and it just sounds awful. In essence with editing and some crappy reshoots they managed to change the entire tone of the film, even going so far as to cut out entire characters, change Zeus' role and also change the love interest! Awful, awful film making.
Go see Kick Ass or How To Train Your Dragon for some decent cinema. Also some good recent flicks I've seen are The Eclipse, Girl With Dragon Tattoo (be interested on your take after you loved the book), and Welcome.
True, the remake is definitely not worth it. The plot is bland and the additional characters are so hollow in terms of personality (A sand djinn? C'mon!)
owww new resident evil in real 3D. Sounds good, I really enjoyed the last couple of resident evil movies.
