Look what the cat dragged in. . .

Unlike other blogs and message boards, I'm not really into book porn. But messing with the minds of the folks on http://www.malazanempire.com/ is an opportunity too good to pass up!

So yes, I just received my set of page proofs for Ian Cameron Esslemont's Stonewielder. Guess I'll skip the gym this afternoon. . . ;-)

That should help me deal with my Malazan fix!

Given the frequency with which you post, I can see how you'd be worn out. Contrariwise, it's not every blogger that gets ARCs, galleys, proofs, or special editions. That's pretty impressive.

I love getting books early, but if I was offered proofs like this, I'd turn them down. I simply need it in book form to get maximum enjoyment, and that trumps the perc of getting something so early.

But hopefully Bantam sends me the final copy early like they usually do.

Enjoy! While I wouldn't want to read it in proof form, I am still envious.

Does it have a map of Korelri? :-)

The proofs never come with maps, unfortunately.

But given where the tale takes place, I reckon we should get a map of Korelri. =)

Envy. That's the right word for now. You're lucky you are too far away for Spite :P

I'm sure Abyss is screaming for your brains right now :D.

I've received a few proofs of various books over the years (mostly for editing purposes), and I still to this day find them incredibly hard to read. Bound in a notebook or binder helps a little, but nothing can really replace the feel of a book in your hands. I honestly think it adds a considerable amount to the reading experience.

I'm probably old-fashioned. :)
