Hi Pat, thanks for posting this, I've been checking youtube for it for the last 24 hours. Great to see some of my favourite authors, especially Abercrombie and Sanderson - I've just finished Way of Kings and really enjoyed it!

I'll admit I haven't read any of the Dresden Files books or the Warded Man yet but after watching this I'm feeling much more inclined to do so.

Also I thought Joe did a great job of representing us Brits! Great to see him getting the attention he deserves.

Is it just me or did anyone else find Sanderson to be rather annoying...?

Not at all. Listen to the writing excuses podcast or go to one of his signings and he is the same. He's naturally just a very enthusiastic person and also a giant nerd...and he happens to be one of the friendliest people you could hope to meet.

Brandon was just enthusiastic. Remember, he's one of us - the few, the proud, the geeks. And we do tend to wax enthusiastic about stuff. :D

Loved this. Abercrombie always have a few quick words to put in, and it seems like Peter V Brett, Jim Butcher and friends kept up. Really an enjoyable vid, so thanks!

@ParadoxicalDr Seconded, I love his books and everything but I don't know something about him on this panel rubbed me the wrong way

Noticed people from the audience yelling stuff out during the panel, this happened a few times at Aussiecon and was fucking annoying - you're there to SEE a panel and maybe ask questions during a Q&A section, not try and get your stupid-as-fuck comment heard by an author that you wanna bang into next Wednesday.

Fanboys/girls fuckin' piss me off. There's a difference between being an appreciative fan and being a douche.

And thanks to Shawn Speakman from Suvudu for filming these and various other videos, I consider some of the "articles" he writes to be a waste of time and space but at least he's good at uploading videos.

Currently reading 'The Painted Man' now (it's called that rather than Warded down here in Oz) and think it's pretty good thus far. I like his style of writing as it flows very well.

I thought Brandon sounded like a smart guy. The other writers seem more focused on the craft, which takes one kind of writer, and he seems more innovative. That kind of juxtaposition of thinking styles with the others probably made him seem a bit weird. But I really like the fact that he tries to be different and create new magic systems in his works.
