Any word on how expensive the book will be?

Finally ;)

Erikson is finally well represented. The only changes I would make is about shading a bit better Moon's Spawn, and the city is a bit too blurred and not corresponding the description.

It should be more round and closed in itself, with very tall walls. The walls aren't even perceivable in that picture.

The rest is perfect and faithful.

"As you can see, my young apprentice, your friends have failed. Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station!"

Moon's Spawn would kick the Death Star's ass any day.

I could have sworn I read that book before abandoning the series, and I don't remember a thing about a floating rock that fires laser beams. Time for a re-read.

cecrow, aren't those beams Tattersail and probably the other ranked mages attacking Moon's Spawn from below?

Hmmm, magic in Erikson's books goes in waves, not lines. This is less impressive than his previous teasers, although the top one is still very good :)

Thanks for posting them pat!

Tattersail actually just whimpers and ducks.

The shooting ones were Tayschrenn, Bellurdan, Nightchill and A'Karonys (from below).

And Anomander Rake (from the top).

The rest of the Malazan army just sat there awaiting death.

Holy crap. This is great. Thanks for the pics.

It sort of reminds me of Star Trek. The converging beams - diverging beams? - of maaaaaaaagic attack!light would make sizzling noises in space.

It's better than the "Toll the Hounds" TOR cover that was just posted on Amazon!

This is a serious question - was this book ever printed-published-released?

I've never seen a copy, and have never seen it for sale on either eBay or ABE Books. Certainly there's a collectors market around Erikson books so I'm not saying it couldn't have sold out and is now being jealously guarded on the shelves of real Erikson collectors.

But, it's been suspiciously absent from the secondary market, and not even early Stephen King books are that rare...

Anyway, I'd love to hear from someone who actually owns it and could post photos of the artwork.

There is no visible construction on the surface of Moon's Spawn

Pity it doesn't show Rake's KG counter attack....now that would be a pic, plus it's supposed to obsidian, light sucking dark.
